My name is Diego. I was born in Peru. In 2010, I came to New Zealand on a working holiday, and today I call this beautiful country home.
I speak Spanish as my first language, as well as English and French... so I know first hand how rewarding and challenging it can be learning a new language!
I studied Law back in Lima specialising in Intellectual Property. After finishing my degree and gaining some experience, I came to NZ. A few years later, I studied Medical Laboratory Science and specialised in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. Currently, I work at the Auckland Hospital Laboratory.
Me graduating as a Lawyer (left) and as a Clinical Scientist (right).
I love plants, I own over a hundred plants (mostly succulents!). Also I love nature and enjoy road trips, bushwalking or a day at the beach!
I love going for a coffee, a meal or for drinks with friends, but also enjoy going to the gym, taking photos, reading and some me time.
I have always had a passion for sharing my culture. And I find that this is best accomplished through the language, food, arts and music...
That's a photo of me in the Peruvian jungle.

I'm triple vaccinated. I play COVID safe and take all the necessary precautions to avoid infection and the spread of it. And if you prefer I also offer classes through Zoom, Skype or Whatsapp!
